Describing her symptoms in an Instagram post, the 'Younger' star claims that she, her husband and their two daughters first realized they might have contracted COVID-19 about a month ago.

AceShowbiz - Actress Debi Mazar has tested positive for coronavirus.

The 55-year-old "Younger" star has taken to Instagram to describe her symptoms and assure fans she's doing OK after her diagnosis, revealing she, her husband, and their two daughters first realised they might have contracted COVID-19 a month ago.

"My entire home... got an odd bug - low-grade fever, headaches, sore throat, body aches, ears ringing and a dry cough," she writes. "It cleared up quickly. Seasonal I thought? But it felt unusual/different."

Two weeks later, the star woke up with "super intense body aches" and, after putting it down to an evening of "cocktails and a few cigarettes", she called a doctor friend for advice.

She was initially denied a test because she didn't meet the criteria - she hadn't travelled out of the country or interacted with anyone who had tested positive for the virus.

"I found this kind of a CRAZY criteria (sic) for a (New Yorker) as I had taken the subway, gone to the theater, the grocery store, the pharmacy, hair salon," Mazar adds. "I was the mom who was trying to prepare the home and get supplies and bleach wipes, dry goods and extra food."

She eventually got tested on Tuesday, March 17 and received her positive diagnosis on Saturday.

"I'm hoping I've been through the worst of it already," the Entourage actress writes. "One day I feel crappy and the next I'm normal. Today my lungs are heavy, but I'm tough."

Mazar and her family will be quarantined for 14 days, and she is keen to make sure others avoid the virus.

"Stay home people!" she writes. "Protect yourselves and your loved ones. Build up your immune systems... Good luck and God bless us all!"

Debi joins a growing list of stars battling COVID-19 - Tom Hanks, Idris Elba, Daniel Dae Kim, Olga Kurylenko, Bon Jovi rocker David Bryan, and "Game of Thrones" stars Indira Varma and Kristofer Hivju are all under quarantine after testing positive.
