Talking about the song in an interview, the sister of Miley Cyrus says that she hopes her new song 'resonates with people, especially with all that is going on in the world right now.'

AceShowbiz - Noah Cyrus has released a new single inspired by a spiritual awakening she had while high.

Miley Cyrus' little sister dropped "I Got So High That I Saw Jesus" on Friday (20Mar20), and an accompanying video, in which she baptises herself in a lake.

And she explains the track is based on a real moment she had, when Jesus Christ told her that everything will be OK.

"This song is not about or for one religion or belief system," she tells WENN in a statement. "Jesus basically represents a greater understanding and knowledge that everything has its purpose and everything will work itself out the way it’s supposed to... I was born and raised Christian with strong beliefs and still hold those values."

"I was smoking weed one night, and had this epiphany, then wrote the song, hence the title. I hope this song resonates with people, especially with all that is going on in the world right now. Humans have evolved in so many beautiful ways, but we’ve also gotten so out of touch with the world, and each other."
