AceShowbiz - Ozzy Osbourne has thanked music industry chiefs who duped him out of a fortune for saving his life by stopping him from spending the cash on drugs.
The former Black Sabbath frontman, who recently revealed he has been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, was notorious for his hard-living antics in the 1970s and 1980s.
However, he says things would have been even worse had he had access to the money he earned - rather than losing money to music label bosses through badly negotiated contracts and lawsuits.
"In a way it was a blessing that I never got all that cash upfront; because with what cash I had I did a good job of nearly killing myself," he told the Broken Record podcast.
"I would not be sitting here that is for sure. If I got all the millions upfront, we would have been f**king dead."
He also praised wife Sharon Osbourne, who also acts as his manager, for helping him sort his life out and stop getting swindled.
"Sharon is my f***ing rock. I am lucky to have a wife on my side, because of these f**kers man," he explains. "We got stung for a lot of cash. I have done some stupid things."
