Earlier this week, Kobe's father Joe Bryant was spotted outside his Las Vegas home after a giant bouquet of yellow flowers was delivered to his house. The retired NBA star, who wore a dark shirt, seemed to be dispirited as he walked back into the house.

A neighbor told the site that the family was too heartbroken to comment on the tragedy and was grieving privately. "I talked to them twice yesterday and took over food and a card, and briefly today, they are just devastated, as you can imagine," the neighbor said.

The neighbor shared, "It's a private, awful moment, losing their son and grand-daughter, it's just horrific. I was talking to Joe briefly the day before, we were out for a walk, it was all happy and good and talking about the gorgeous weather and then it switched in 24 hours where their lives were turned upside down."

The neighbor claimed Joe and Pamela are "very close" to their daughters Sharia and Shaya, who have been mourning with their parents. "They just need their peace, it's been nonstop since yesterday," the neighbor, who refused to be named, added. "They were here this morning and yesterday. It's a sensitive time, I can't even imagine what they're going through. They are lovely, kind, decent people."

Kobe, Gianna and seven other people were killed in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California on Sunday, January 26. Kobe's wife Vanessa Bryant broke her silence on the devastating deaths a few days later, writing on Instagram, "We are completely devastated by the sudden loss of my adoring husband, Kobe - the amazing father of our children; and my beautiful, sweet Gianna - a loving, thoughtful, and wonderful daughter, and amazing sister to Natalia, Bianka, and Capri. We are also devastated for the families who lost their loved ones on Sunday, and we share in their grief intimately."

"There aren't enough words to describe our pain right now," she continued. "I'm not sure what our lives hold beyond today, and it's impossible to imagine life without them," she said, before adding that she and her family "wake up each day, trying to keep pushing because Kobe, and our baby girl, Gigi, are shining on us to light the way." The mother of four heartbreakingly shared, "I just wish I could hug them, kiss them and bless them. Have them here with us, forever."
