AceShowbiz - Courtney Stodden is opening up about her dark past. In an emotional video posted on Monday, January 20, the "Celebrity Big Brother" alum admitted to attempting suicide last year as things were just getting so hard for her to take.

She first began her video by admitting to taking some time to tell her story to the world as she's not quite ready yet. "It's no secret that I've struggled with depression," so she said in the YouTube video. "I also wanted to address something that I've been holding in out of fear -- out of concern that I'm just going to be looked at completely differently."

Courtney then proceeded to explain her suicide attempt, revealing that it happened a year ago when "it was just a point where I didn't see a way out of all the pain and grief and like, craziness and instantly of my life." Feeling like her problems finally got the best of her, she "decided, in a really drunken state, that this was the best option."

"I don't know what else to do. I took my pants off. I took my jeans off. I wrapped it around the shower door and I just prayed and the next thing I knew was that my head hit the toilet or something and the shower door broke," the media personality continued, feeling grateful that her attempt failed. "By the grace of God, it didn't work. I still can't believe that I did that. I sit here right now in shock."

Courtney also addressed her finalized divorce from Doug Hutchison. "I thought when this day would come I just didn't know what I was gonna feel, but I'm feeling super strong," the 25-year-old star said.

News of their finalized divorced broke on Monday, January 20. According to court documents, "The Green Mile" actor will walk away from the union with the exes' dog, the 2001 Jeep Wrangler and his SAG pension, in addition to stock shared to Dark Water Inc. Neither will get spousal support.
