The Adam Levine-fronted band becomes the only group beside Rolling Stones to score No. 1 and No. 2 hits in the United States over three decades after 'Memories' jumps to No. 2 on Billboard's Hot 100.

AceShowbiz - Maroon 5 have the Rolling Stones as the only two groups to score number one and number two hits in the U.S. charts over three decades.

Adam Levine and his bandmates landed the feat this week (begins January 06) as their new hit, "Memories", jumped up the Billboard Hot 100 countdown to two, giving them a top two placing in the 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s.

On the run, the rockers have hit first place with the aptly titled "Moves Like Jagger", "One More Night", "Girls Like You", and "Makes Me Wonder", while "Payphone" and "Sugar" stalled at two.

The Rolling Stones, fronted by Mick Jagger, had 10 number ones and twos in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s.

The news comes a week after Mariah Carey shattered records by landing her latest number one, which made her the only artist to score chart-toppers in four different decades.
