Making the announcement during an appearance on CBS This Morning, bass guitarist Jay DeMarcus assures there is a good possibility the country trio will reunite in the future.

AceShowbiz - Country trio Rascal Flatts are calling it quits after 20 years together.

Gary LeVox, Joe Don Rooney, and Jay DeMarcus have announced plans for a farewell tour, which will begin in June.

Appearing on "CBS This Morning" on Tuesday (January 07), they confirmed the news to fans, revealing their "Farewell: Life Is a Highway Tour" dates will be their last hurrah.

"When we started out 20 years ago, we could not imagine all of the people, places and gifts we would encounter," the group tweeted. "There is no sadness. Just new chapters, new journeys, and new beginnings."

But DeMarcus told "CBS This Morning" there is a good possibility the group will get together in the future: "We're not going to sign some pact that says we're never going to tour again."

Rascal Flatts became a country staple upon the release of their self-titled debut album in 2000. Their hits include "Bless the Broken Road" and "Here Comes Goodbye".

Over the past two decades, the trio has sold over 20 million albums.
