The 'Sunflower' hitmaker debuted the new ink hours before his performance on 'Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve', during which he fell off stage while shaking hands with fans.

AceShowbiz - Post Malone has rung the new year with a brand new tattoo. Just hours before he took the stage in New York City's Times Square for a live performance on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2020", the "Rockstar" hitmaker debuted via social media a massive ink covering one side of his face.
On Tuesday, December 31, the 24-year-old turned to his Instagram account to show off his latest body art collection. Featuring a medieval gauntlet holding a flail, the fresh tattoo ran along the right side of his jawline, down to his chin. Along with the photo taken in a hotel room bathroom, he wrote, "have a good a** new year."
A clearer look at the Grammy-nominated rapper's tattoo was offered by tattoo artist Kyle Hediger through a post on his own Instagram. Uploading a close-up of the MC's face, he noted, "Last tattoo of 2019. Gauntlet on the baby boy @postmalone love u. 2020 is going to be next level. Love you all."
This gauntlet tattoo was not the first Post etched permanently on his face. The Swae Lee-collaborator on "Sunflower" has a small playboy bunny and a smiley face under his right eye, barbed wire on his forehead, the command to "Stay away" above his right eye, and the words "Always" and "Tired" under each eye among many others.
Despite his many collections, Post confessed in 2018 that he used to be afraid of getting a tattoo for himself. During an appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon", he credited Justin Bieber for giving him the courage to get his first ink.
"We were working on Stoney, and then we had a tattoo artist come through, and I was like, 'You know what? Justin Bieber's got some tats, and I love you, but I know I'm way tougher than you,' " he recalled. "And then I got one, it's a pretty s**ty tattoo. It's a Playboy bunny tattoo. It was my first tattoo, I don't know why."
As for Post's end-of-year performance, it was not without a bit of mishap. The musician fell off the stage into the audience while performing. One Twitter user, who shared the aftermath photos, dished, "He had just hugged Seacrest and went to shake fans' hands and his foot slipped off the stage. After he and fans got over the initial shock he smiled for a selfie as roadies helped him back up."
Undeterred by the incident, the "Better Now" spitter was all smiles when he climbed back to the stage. During the show, he treated fans to two of his hits, "Circles" and "Congratulations". Rocking a sparkling purple suit, he at some point shouted to the crowd, "I dare you to do something big in 2020!"
