Speaking to the press at the Comic Con Expo in Brazil, Patty Jenkins notes that both she and Gal Gadot have 'other things to do' and adds that it is 'important to give it a little rest in between.'

AceShowbiz - "Wonder Woman" director Patty Jenkins is contemplating a future spin-off movie focusing on the superhero's Amazonian roots.

The filmmaker is currently putting the finishing touches to the upcoming sequel, "Wonder Woman 1984", ahead of its summer, 2020 release, but she is already thinking about where she and her leading lady, Gal Gadot, can take the titular character next, revealing they have a third chapter of the franchise mapped out.

"We actually already know the whole story to it," Jenkins revealed to the press at the Comic Con Expo in Sao Paulo, Brazil over the weekend, December 08.

She didn't provide any specific details about a potential "Wonder Woman 3", but she also has an idea for a spin-off project revolving around the people of the warrior princess' homeland.

However, Jenkins warns fans not to get too excited about the expansion of the franchise, because they want to take their time to develop the ideas before deciding whether or not to press ahead with their plans.

"It's just a matter of, will we change our minds, and when (to make it)," she explained. "I think what we don't want to do is do it back to back. It's been great doing these two movies (2017's 'Wonder Woman' and its forthcoming sequel) back to back, but I think it's important to give it a little rest in between."

"And I like doing other things in between. And Gal has other things to do. I never want to make decisions too far in advance. We have to see if we both feel like making the movie we think we want to make when the moment comes."

The collaborators will have plenty of time to mull their next moves as "Wonder Woman 1984" doesn't hit theatres until June (20).
