Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists announce they launched an investigation into racism allegations sparked by Gabrielle's departure from 'AGT'.

AceShowbiz - As more celebrities rallied behind Gabrielle Union and an online petition was created to force NBC to fix its "toxic workplace culture" following her departure from "America's Got Talent", Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists announced they launched an investigation into the situation.

"We take issues of workplace health and safety very seriously," the organization stated. "We immediately reached out to Ms. Union's representatives when these reports came to light. It is our practice to work closely with members who reach out to us and their representatives in instances like this, as that usually affords the best protection and best resolution for the affected member."

Gabrielle was reportedly dropped by NBC because she voiced her concerns about "problematic" situations on the show. She allegedly complained about Simon Cowell's indoor smoking, disagreed when they decided to eliminate 10-year-old black rapper for a white dance group "America could get behind," annoyed the producers when she asked performers in drag what their pronouns were, and criticized a racist joke made by guest judge Jay Leno.

In response, NBC and Simon Cowell's production company Syco said the female star was let go from the show because they're just rotating a judge out to keep the talent show fresh. The producers said they wanted to work with Gabrielle's team to resolve any issues that she thought might be concerning, but the actress was not impressed with their statement. She retweeted an "I will not accept that" meme along with a guide on how to make a proper apology.

"Desperate Housewives" alum Eva Longoria became the latest star supporting Gabrielle, joining the likes of Debra Messing, Ellen Pompeo, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ariana Grande, as well as fellow ousted "AGT" judges Sharon Osbourne and Howard Stern.

"What @gabunion experienced on set at @NBC's #AmericasGotTalent is unacceptable. It's time for @NBCUniversal to commit to long-term, concrete action to fix its toxic workplace culture and ensure safety and equity for all its workers," she wrote on Instagram, urging her followers to sign a petition, "Add your name through @timesupnow Instagram story. #TimeUp on the imbalance of power."

Meanwhile, "AGT" host Terry Crews took a lot of heat for his seemingly lackluster response to Gabrielle's firing from the NBC talent show. Many people were upset with the former NFL athlete for not standing up for his fellow black artist. They remembered his ordeal in 2017 when he opened up on getting sexually harassed by Hollywood high-level executive Adam Venit and Gabrielle readily and publicly supported him.

He also had a slightly different message when reaching out to another freshly-ousted judge Julianne Hough. He tweeted, "God bless you @juliannehough! Looking forward to working with you again soon!"

He did have nothing but positive words for Gabrielle when he previously bidding farewell to the "Think Like a Man" actress, but instead of looking forward to reuniting with her, he wrote, "You will be missed!"
