The sixth week of season 28 of the ABC dancing competition show opens with a fun '80s-themed Quickstep to 'Take On Me' by A-ha from Ally Brooke and pro dancer Sasha Farber.

AceShowbiz - "Dancing with the Stars" season 28 returned with a new episode on Monday, October 21. The sixth week of the season opened with a fun '80s-themed Quickstep to "Take On Me" by A-ha from Ally Brooke and Sasha Farber.
Judge Len Goodman liked it so much, saying, "First out, first class. I liked it very much, I liked your frame and your left hand. I love this season that the dances are longer. There were little foot faults, but overall it was full of energy." Echoing the sentiment was Bruno Tonioli who callled the routine "so bright, very enthusiastic and fast." Ally earned 25 points out of 30, bringing their total score for 2 weeks to 52 out of 60.
The next performer were Kate Flannery and Pasha Pashov who danced Viennese Waltz. Bruno said that the performance was "really, really good." Carrie Ann Inaba also admitted that she was "speechless," adding, "Your hard work paid off in spades. It was so victorious." The judges gave the pair a 27 with total score of 51.
Kel Mitchell and Witney Carson later followed it up with a Quickstep to Stevie Wonder's "Part-time Lover". Carrie Ann praised their synchronized performance. Len thought "the routine was terrific," though he noted about the "major incident" during the performance. Kel was given a 26, so his total score was 52.
Dancing Contemporary to "Someone You Loved" by Lewis Capaldi were Karamo Brown and his partner Jenna Johnson. "If I could sum that dance up with one word, it was fluid. The lifts were great. This has light and shade, fast and slow, I thought it was a really well-constructed dance," said Len. Bruno gushed, "There was no self-doubt, there was a wonderful balance of strength and fluidity." The judges gave the pair a 25 and with that, his total score was 46.
Next up were Hannah Brown and Alan Bernstein. They hit the ballroom to dance a Samba to "Southbound" by Carrie Underwood. Totally loving the routine, Bruno commented, "Brazil to Nashville, what a party. You did it, but at times, you lose your natural bounce, not quite on the rhythm. Very good." Len also raved over Hannah who "coped very well" even though "that was not an easy routine." With additional 24 points for the performance, her total score was 49.
For that night, Sailor Brinkley-Cook and Valentin Chmerkovskiy opted for a Jibe to Wham's "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go". "That was amazing," gushed Carrie Ann, "to be animated is your thing. I had a blast watching you do the jive." Len added that the performance was "decaffeinated" and "full of flavor," with Bruno saying "it was a great jive." Sailor got a 27 which made her total score 51 points.
Sean Spicer and Lindsay Arnold returned to the ballroom to perform a Vienesse Waltz by "Somebody to Love" by Queen. Bruno thought that night was "the smartest you ever looked, almost regal. It was a difficult dance, but you looked like tumbleweed. You tried to do it all." He got a 21, bringing his total score to 40.
Alongside pro dancer Emma Slater, James Van Der Beek danced a Samba to "Light It Up" by Major Lazer feat. Nyla & Fuse ODG. Of the performance, Carrie Ann said, "The whole thing was ridiculous. Sometimes you do the movement so good that it can get proportioned outside of your body." Len added, "Tutty fruity, what a booty! Your bump was out of control, it was a really really good samba." The judges gave James 27 points with total score of 53.
Concluding the night were Lauren Alaina and Gleb Savchenko. The pair offered a performance of a Contemporary to Lauren's "The Other Side". "It is very sad, but it makes me happy to see so much love and honesty, always keep it with you," Bruno commented. Len added, "Such a brave thing to do, to dance with such performance that is worthy of your stepfather, and Gleb. Well done." The performance got her 26 points and her total score was 49.
Later it was revealed that Sailor & Val and Ally & Sasha were in the bottom two. As Carrie Ann and Bruno decided to save Ally and Sasha, Sailor and Val were forced to pack and go home in an emotional elimination.
