The Hollywood Horror Museum account, where David Lynch's daughter serves as board member, has also teased on the follow-up, claiming that an insider has 'let something very interesting slip.'

AceShowbiz - The cast of "Twin Peaks" appear to be dreaming up another weird and wonderful season of the drama after co-creator and director David Lynch revealed he loved shooting the series in King County, Washington.

Showtime bosses revealed they were in talks with Lynch about a follow-up to "Twin Peaks: The Return" as soon as the bizarre sequel season ended in 2017, but there has been no confirmation.

However, last month (September 2019), the director raved about the experience of making the show, tweeting: "We had a perfect place to shoot Twin Peaks and perfect people to work with", and now a tweet on the Hollywood Horror Museum account reads: "Someone we know who is 'in the know' just let something very interesting slip about the future of Twin Peaks. If it's true, we'll be squealing and giddy in 2020!"

David Lynch teased 'Twin Peaks' season 4.

The post is significant because Lynch's daughter, Jennifer, is a museum board member.

To add to the intrigue, "Twin Peaks" star Kyle MacLachlan, who has portrayed coffee-and-doughnut-loving Detective Dale Cooper since the show's debut in 1990, took to Twitter and wrote: "Love this dapper suit, but definitely thinking about... donuts this morning," and castmate Michael Horse has posted a photo of his character being told to stay quiet.

Lynch has also been posting photos on Instagram from the location of the series, suggesting he might be there planning a new season.
