Amazed by the female tennis champion who won U.S. Open in a tutu, the 'I'm a Mess' hitmaker wrote a woman empowerment song called 'You Can't Stop the Girl'.

AceShowbiz - Bebe Rexha's new female empowerment anthem "You Can't Stop the Girl" was inspired by tennis ace Serena Williams.
The song appears on the soundtrack for Disney's upcoming movie "Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, and the star revealed the unlikely inspiration for the hit as she attended the film's premiere in Los Angeles, California on Monday, September 30.
"I actually wrote the song in the studio, and it was around the time when Serena Williams wore her tutu during one of her games," she told Entertainment Tonight, recalling Williams' ensemble from the U.S. Open in April 2018. "It actually really inspired me because I was like: 'Wow… she is a badass.' "
The star claimed she wasn't working on the tune specifically for the movie, but when director Joachim Ronning heard the music, he asked her if she'd be willing to contribute to the soundtrack.
"He asked me to watch the movie to see if I related to it, and I was like, 'OK, cool. I'm down to see it.' And I watched it and I was blown away," Rexha recalled. "I immediately told my team, I was like, 'I have to work this song into the movie!' And then we went in and we actually added an 80 piece orchestra."
"Maleficent: Mistress of Evil", starring Angelina Jolie, Michelle Pfeiffer and Elle Fanning, hits theatres on October 18.
