AceShowbiz - Disney Plus' "Hawkeye" series has reportedly found another actor to join the show in a lead role joining Jeremy Renner. According to Variety, "Pitch Perfect" actress Hailee Steinfeld has been eyed to play a character that many fans would love to see her story on the upcoming new series.

It is said that Hailee is wanted to portray Kate Bishop. In the comics, Kate is a character who takes the mantle of Hawkeye after Clint Barton (Jeremy). She is also a member of the group known as the Young Avengers.

Reps for Disney Plus and Hailee have yet to respond to request for comment.

While she's new in terms of TV worlds, fans are more familiar with her for her movie roles. In addition to "Pitch Perfect" franchise, Hailee's credits include "The Edge of Seventeen", "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" and "Bumblebee". She also earned an Oscar nomination for her breakout role in the remake of "True Grit" by the Coen brothers.

In addition to incredible acting career, Hailee has a succesful music career. She has released her platinum-certified debut single "Love Myself" and double-platinum-selling "Starving" with Grey featuring Zedd. Her another song "Most Girls" also received platinum certification.

Marvel confirmed plans to develop a series focusing on "Hawkeye" during their Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con, joining other series that would follow other MCU characters including Falcon and Winter Soldier, as well as Loki, and Vision and Scarlet Witch. Later at D23, Disney revealed that there would be shows centering on Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, and She-Hulk as well. The new shows are set to have six to eight episodes with budgets which was larger than usual television projects.
