The trailer further indicates that the new series is seemingly taking a darker direction compared to other 'Star Wars' works, but fans can still find its classic aesthetic on the show.

AceShowbiz - Disney+ has unveiled the first official trailer for live-action "Star Wars" series "The Mandalorian". The clip, which offers a better look at the first non-animated Star Wars TV project, was released during its presentation at the D23 Expo convention on Friday, August 23.

The opening of the footage hints at a chaotic and unlawful period where the show is set in. It can also be seen that remnants of the Empire are being hunted down by the scoundrels and mercenaries trying to make a living in the universe.

The trailer further indicates that the new series is seemingly taking a darker direction compared to other "Star Wars" works. However, fans can still find the classic "Star Wars" aesthetic on the show which also boasts plenty of action-packed scenes.

In addition to the first trailer, "The Mandalorian" treats fans to a new poster. It highlights the lone ranger who is played by "Game of Thrones" alum Pedro Pascal. He is "a mysterious lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy. Some might say he has questionable moral character."

Also joining Pascal in the new show's cast are Gina Carano as Cara Dune and Carl Weathers as Greef Carga. Dune was previously described as an "ex-Rebel shock trooper who's acclimatizing to life after the end of the war with the Empire, and she appears to be able to match the Mandalorian blow for blow in one fight scene." As for Greef Carga, he was "kinda the head of this guild of bounty hunters. The Mando is a guy who he figures can get the job done."

The cast also includes Werner Herzog, Nick Nolte, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Omid Abtahi and the newly announced Ming-Na Wen.

Helmed by Deborah Chow, Bryce Dallas Howard and Taika Waititi, "The Mandalorian" is set to premiere when Disney+ launches on November 12.
