'St. Elmo's Fire' to Be Transformed Into TV Series

The classic 1985 film, which was directed by Joel Schumacher and starred by Emilio Estevez among others, will get a modern-day touch from 'Drop Dead Diva' creator Josh Berman.

AceShowbiz - Classic Brat Pack movie "St. Elmo's Fire" is set to blaze again - as a TV series.

Josh Berman is developing a script for the updated project, which will focus on a group of modern-day friends struggling with their careers and commitments, according to Deadline.

Co-written and directed by Joel Schumacher, the beloved 1985 film starred Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe, Andrew McCarthy, Demi Moore, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, and Mare Winningham.

There are high hopes for Berman's revamp after a series of planned "St. Elmo's Fire" TV adaptations fell flat at Sony TV.
