During their appearance on 'BUILD Brunch', one of the hosts suggests that Bethenny saves the show to which Sonja responds, 'What the hell are you talking about?! Have you lost your mind?'

AceShowbiz - Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan stopped by BUILD Brunch on Tuesday, July 16. "The Real Housewives of New York City" stars had a nice conversation with the hosts while discussing the current season of the Bravo reality show, until one of the hosts Luka Thimm made an unpleasant remark which upset the stars.
The said remark had something to do with fellow "RHONY" star Bethenny Frankel who returned for the show's season 7 following her three-year absence. Lukan said, "The show's been on for 11 seasons -- it is one of the most successful shows of the franchise -- and I've watched it since Day 1. And you had this middle area [without Bethenny], and then [she] came back. It seemed like a revitalization of the show with getting back to its original DNA."
Seemingly insinuating that Bethenny saved the show, he continued asking, "Do you think her return, and kind of restoring the original relationships, was a big part of keeping the show on now for so long?"
Luann and Sonja looked obviously offended with the question. "Well, Bethenny was gone for years, and we managed to carry the show. Obviously, Bethenny's a big character and it's great to have her back, but you know…," Luann said. Sonja then chimed in and said, "What the hell are you talking about?! Have you lost your mind? Luann and I both emailed Bethenny and said, 'We're so happy you're coming back.' "
She continued ranting, "And gosh, we do feel the DNA is back or whatever, as you said, but what was that other thing you said?! 'Do you think that's the reason the show has lasted this long?' [This is] 'The Real Housewives of New York City'. Ramona Singer will be in diapers and a wheelchair with or without Bethenny! I mean, come on."
The host appeared to do damage control by saying that he meant to say that it was nice to watch the "authentic relationships" between the original ladies of the series. Lukas also praised Sonja for blowing up the show when she joined in season 3. Not really impressed, Luann said, "He's trying to repair it now."
Luann starred as a full-time housewife for all seasons except season 6, in which she was featured as a "friend." Meanwhile, Sonja has been a full-time housewife since season 3. As for Bethenny, she was a full-time housewive in the first 3 seasons of the franchise. She later left the show for her own spin-off before returning in a full-time capacity in 2015.
