AceShowbiz - As more celebrities weighed in on the controversy surrounding Taylor Swift, Scooter Braun and Big Machine Records, the company's founder Scott Borchetta has broken his silence. In an open letter addressing the situation, Scott explained what really happened before news broke that Scooter bought the record label.

Attempting to "set things straight," Scott noted that he had already notified both her dad, who is a shareholder in the company, and the singer herself about the deal. Scott went on saying that it might be possible that her dad didn't notify her or that she had yet to see his text prior to the news. However, Scott "truly" doubted that she "woke up to the news when everyone else did."

Scott also said that Taylor was actually given the opportunity to "own not just her master recordings, but every video, photograph, everything associated to her career. She choose to leave." Talking about Taylor's claim which stated that she's always crying or close to tears whenever Scooter's name was brought up, Scott said, "I certainly never experienced that."

Defending the talent manager, Scott continued, "Scooter was never anything but positive about Taylor. He called me directly about Manchester to see if Taylor would participate (she declined). He called me directly to see if Taylor wanted to participate in the Parkland March (she declined). Scooter has always been and will continue to be a supporter and honest custodian for Taylor and her music."

Prior to this, Taylor expressed how "sad and grossed out" she was upon learning of Scooter's acquisition of Big Machine Records, which holds the right to her entire catalogue up through "Reputation". In her Tumblr post, Taylor accused the talent manager of subjecting her to "incessant, manipulative bullying" for years and "controlling a woman who didn't want to be associated with him."

Justin and Scooter's wife Yael had come to his defense following her accusation. Several celebrities have also declared where they stand in the controversy, with Katy Perry, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus and more supporting the "You Need to Calm Down" singer. Katy was caught signing a petition that is demanding that Taylor re-release her six albums, while stars like Rih, Miley, Nicki Minaj and Selena Gomez have all reportedly unfollowed Scooter on social media.

Meanwhile, Iggy Azalea tweeted, "I think from what I can see; it's more about the fact they didn't even give her the opportunity to at least bid on her own masters; when she's made it known she wanted to purchase. I can totally understand where she's coming from." In contrary, Demi Lovato voiced her support for Scooter.

Taking to Instagram Stories, she wrote, "I have dealth with bad people in this industry and Scooter is not one of them. He's a good man. Personally, I'm grateful he came into my life when he did. Please stop 'dragging' people or bullying them. There's enough hate in this world as it is. Y'all can come after me all you want but I'm always gonna stay loyal to my team. I value loyalty more than most people in this world and if my name is gonna be brought into conversations I'm gonna stand up for myself and the ones on my team."
