In a short video posted online, the younger sister of Donny Osmond confirms that she will be replacing longtime co-host Sara Gilbert as moderator on the daytime talk show.

AceShowbiz - Singer Marie Osmond will officially replace Sara Gilbert as moderator on U.S. daytime show "The Talk".

Gilbert recently announced she was quitting the show to focus on other ventures and spend more time with her kids and it was rumoured Osmond was in the running to step in - and now it's official.

She'll join Eve, Carrie Ann Inaba, Sharon Osbourne, and Sheryl Underwood for the upcoming 10th season of the show she has guest hosted more than 40 times.

The show will coincide with the end of her residency at the Flamingo in Las Vegas with brother Donny, which will end in November after an 11-year run.

Marie, who also hosted a talk show with her brother in the late 1990s, confirmed the news by posting a video online on Tuesday, May 07 shortly after the announcement was made during the show.

She said, "I am thrilled... to be joining season 10 and sitting round the table with these fabulous women at 'The Talk'."
