In commemoration of the milestone, the 'Everybody' hitmakers share a sweet throwback photo on social media that captures all five of them in their early days singing on a stage.

AceShowbiz - The Backstreet Boys have marked 26 years as a group by sharing a sweet throwback photo.
The boyband, comprised of A.J. McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson and Brian Littrell, rose to worldwide fame with the debut of their self-titled album in 1996.
However, they actually formed the band three years earlier, and over the weekend (April 20-21), they celebrated the milestone with a photo on Instagram.
"On this day in 1993 we became the Backstreet Boys," the snap was captioned. "From performing in high school gyms to heading out on a world tour this summer (plus a #1album!!), never could the five of us have imagined what the past 26 years would hold. Thank you all (heart emoji). Here's to many more years! #KTBSPA #BSB26."
Alongside the words, the Backstreet Boys uploaded a throwback snap showing them in their early days singing on a stage at a high school gym.
With hits like "I Want It That Way" and "Everybody", the singers have sold over 100 million records worldwide, making them the best-selling boy band of all time.
And in spite of some ups and downs over the years, they are still performing regularly and are currently in the midst of their Larger Than Life residency at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, with the string of performances set to conclude on April 27. They will embark on the "DNA World Tour" in support of their ninth studio album, the following month.
And in a recent interview with Billboard, Nick shared that it was satisfying to have longevity in the music business, especially as they never thought they'd enjoy such lengthy careers.
"It's satisfying and exciting, because you work so hard after so many years. We never really expected it," the 39-year-old enthused. "We don't ever expect anything that's been given to us or that happens to us. We're just kind of living in the moment."
