In a statement released by her representative, the Ginger Spice stresses that reports of her having sexual tryst with the Scary Spice during their Spice Girls era are 'very disappointing' and 'simply not true.'

AceShowbiz - Geri Horner has dismissed her Spice Girls bandmate Mel B's claims they had a sexual tryst.

The singer hit headlines recently when she revealed she had slept with Geri, who then went by the surname Geri Halliwell, during the height of their Spice Girls fame in an interview on Piers Morgan's "Life Stories".

However, Geri's insists there is no truth to the claims.

"It has been very disappointing to read about all these rumours again, especially on Mother's Day of all days," a statement from Horner's representative reads. "Geri is really grateful for your support and loyalty for so many years. She loves the Spice Girls: Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, Melanie C and Victoria Adams."

"She would like you to know that what has been reported recently is simply not true and has been very hurtful to her family," the statement adds. "Moving forward, Geri can't wait to see the girls and all the fans on the tour, have an amazing time with everyone, and make some new memories. She wishes you a Happy Mother's Day."

According to Mel, the two bandmates spoke after her revelation and she insisted they were still on good terms.

"I was actually on the phone with Geri," she told Australian show 2Day 104.1. "I did the interview and I just text her, 'I admitted on Piers that we had a little bit of a thing, but don't worry about it, it was all tongue-in-cheek and I didn't go into detail. This was pre your husband, pre your baby, pre one of my babies, so don't worry.' We had a long conversation. Yeah, she text me the night of and I spoke to her at length today, among other things, as we're getting ready for tour."
