The 'Beautiful Crazy' hitmaker and the 'Radioland' singer secure New Male and Female Artist of the Year title, whereas LANCO nabs New Group of the Year prize from the Academy of Country Music.

AceShowbiz - Singers Luke Combs and Ashley McBryde will be heading into the 2019 Academy of Country Music Awards as winners after each landing early honours.

The annual ceremony doesn't take place until next month (April 2019), but the two artists have been given reasons to celebrate after Luke was named the New Male Artist of the Year, while Ashley earned the female equivalent.

Superstar Carrie Underwood, who picked up the female honour back in 2006, was invited to break the news to the rising musicians during special phone calls over the weekend, March 23-24, which were captured on camera and shared on social media on Monday.

In her call to Luke, she said, "I've got some really good news. You are going to the ACMs, right...? Well, you are going there as a winner...! Congratulations!"

"Thank you, that is so cool, I was not expecting that!" replied the shocked singer. "I'm over here toasting my breakfast, and I'm now on the phone with Carrie Underwood winning an ACM... Typical morning, off to a good start!"

Meanwhile, the New Group of the Year prize has been awarded to LANCO, and they expressed their gratitude for the accolade in a post on Twitter.

"We can't even begin to describe how truly honored we our to win an ACM award for new group of the year," they wrote. "Thank you to every person that has believed in us and made this crazy journey possible. From our fans, to our team, to our families this is not possible without you. @ACMawards."

The three winners will each perform at the ACM ceremony in Las Vegas on 7 April, joining a line-up which already features Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, Chris Stapleton, Jason Aldean and host Reba McEntire among many others.
