The 'Reservoir Dogs' star, who had a run in with the law for similar violation seven years earlier, has his bail set at $15,000 after failing a field sobriety test.

AceShowbiz - Michael Madsen has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after crashing his Land Rover in Malibu, California on Sunday, March 24.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ.com that officers from the L.A. County Sheriff's Department responded to the incident and suspected the "Reservoir Dogs" star, 61, had been drinking alcohol.

They told the gossip site that he failed a field sobriety test and he was arrested for a misdemeanor DUI. Bail has been set at $15,000 (£11,300).

Michael was previously arrested for DUI in the city in 2012, when his blood alcohol content was twice the legal limit. He struck a deal with prosecutors and agreed to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings as part of his punishment, but failed to fulfil his side of the bargain so a judge revoked his probation and ordered to him to spend 30 days in a live-in alcohol treatment facility.

The actor completed that rehab stint, but the presiding judge ordered him to enrol in an outpatient programme to continue his recovery.
