'General Hospital' follows closely behind with 25 nods, while 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' and Jada Pinkett Smith's 'Red Table Talk' are both up for Outstanding Talk Show Award.

AceShowbiz - U.S. soap opera "Days of Our Lives" will be the programme to beat at the 2019 Daytime Emmy Awards after landing 27 nominations.

The longrunning show will be defending its title as Outstanding Drama Series for a second consecutive year, facing off with "General Hospital", "The Bold and the Beautiful", and "The Young and the Restless", while Marci Miller has landed a nod as Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

Cast members Tyler Christopher and Billy Flynn are also up for the Lead Actor accolade, and supporting nominations were earned by Kassie DePaiva, Lindsey Godfrey, Martha Madison, Eric Martsolf, and Greg Rikaart.

"General Hospital" follows Days of Our Lives with 25 mentions, including acting recognition for Maura West, Laura Wright, Maurice Benard, and Jon Lindstrom, among others, while "The Young and the Restless" picked up 20 nods, and "The Bold and the Beautiful" scored 12.

In other categories, Jada Pinkett Smith's "Red Table Talk" on Facebook Watch is shortlisted for the first time for Outstanding Informative Talk Show, while singer/actress Kellie Pickler and her pal Ben Aaron are up for Outstanding Informative Talk Show Hosts for their "Pickler & Ben" series.

Ellen DeGeneres' Ellen, "A Little Help With Carol Burnett", "The Real", "The Talk", and "The View" are all nominated for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show.

The winners will be unveiled during a ceremony in Los Angeles on 5 May.
