Hitting back at other Instagram users who criticize her comment on her ex-husband and his 'A Star Is Born' co-star's romance rumors, the 'Blue Bloods' alum claims that her remark was never meant to disrespect Cooper and GaGa.

AceShowbiz - Jennifer Esposito has received backlash after she commented on David Spade's post in which he joked about Bradley Cooper and Lady GaGa's chemistry at the 2019 Academy Awards. The "Blue Bloods" alum, who was married to the "A Star Is Born" director for four months before separating in 2007, commented with a simple "Ha," which has since sparked many interpretations of what it meant.

But Esposito has denied that she ever meant disrespect toward her ex Cooper and GaGa with her remark. "You know so many people have been commenting about something that I said which was like this: 'Ha.' That was it. And in the way that it has spread," she said in an Instagram video posted on Tuesday, February 26.

The 45-year-old actress claimed her remark was actually directed to Spade because he was so bold with his statement. "It was towards David Spade's very outward statement about something about an ex, and I literally laughed at him because he was so bold in what he was saying," she explained. "I thought it was funny and I'm allowed to think something is funny."

She went on downplaying her comment, saying that there are "many things going on in our country and in our world that need attention." She added, "I wish you would spend a minute of this insanity, this nonsense, on things that are really important."

Esposito was particularly hurt by female followers, who claimed she only chimed in to "feel relevant." She insisted, "I didn't watch the Oscars; I don't know what went on, I don't care what went on. I commented on something that I thought was funny... And to find that people are making judgment calls about me or them or the people that the comment was about is really psychotic."

Addressing her 2014 memoir in which she called out her ex Cooper as a "master manipulator," Esposito expressed her frustration that people misconstrued some comments in the book and focus on something "so silly and demeaning and stupid of a relationship I had 11 years ago."

Esposito was accused of shading her ex Cooper after commenting on David Spade's Instagram post, in which he shared a photo of Cooper and GaGa's intimate duet at the Oscars. He captioned it, "Is there any chance these 2 aren't f**king?"
