The actor known for his villain role in 'Mission: Impossible 2' is added to the cast ensemble of The CW series as 'Game of Thrones' director David Nutter steps down from the project.

AceShowbiz - Scottish actor Dougray Scott is set to portray Ruby Rose's TV dad in the highly-anticipated "Batwoman" series.

The "Mission: Impossible 2" star has been cast as former military colonel Jacob Kane, who is forced to reconsider his contempt for Batman's vigilantism when he discovers Gotham's latest mystery crime-fighter is his own daughter, Kate Kane, aka Batwoman.

Rose was unveiled as the DC Comics character, the first gay lead of a live-action superhero series, last summer (2018), and made her TV debut during an "Arrow"/"The Flash" cross-over TV event in December.

News of Scott's addition to the line-up emerges as "Game of Thrones" and "The Flash" writer/director David Nutter exits the project. He had been due to direct the pilot episode, but has since been forced to step aside for personal reasons, reports Variety.com.

Nutter will remain involved as an executive producer, with "The Vampire Diaries" pilot director Marcos Siega brought on as his replacement.

"Batwoman" was picked up for a pilot order at The CW network last month (January 2019).
