Having changed her name to Hailey Bieber after marrying the 'Sorry' singer, the 22-year-old model admits she asked her father Stephen Baldwin's permission beforehand.

AceShowbiz - Hailey Baldwin is still "adjusting" to her new married name, after wedding singer Justin Bieber last September (2018).

The 22-year-old model and "Sorry" star Justin set the rumour mill whirring after secretly tying the knot in a New York courthouse. Hailey went ahead and filed to trademark her married name in October, before officially changing her name on Instagram the following month.

But while fans might have thought her swap to Bieber was pretty swift, the blonde beauty told Bustle in a new interview that the name change actually took a lot of consideration.

In fact, she even spoke to her actor dad Stephen Baldwin about it - as she didn't want him to be upset that she'd no longer share his surname.

"I'm very proud of my family name," she explained. "I come from a great family with a history in this industry. I remember when I was going to change it, I asked my dad if he was going to be upset and he was like, 'No! I don't care. We love you. All good, everyone still knows you're a Baldwin.' It's true!".

However, despite getting her dad's blessing to change her name, Hailey is still trying to get used to being a Bieber.

"It took some getting used to, for sure," she smiled. "It's definitely strange, it takes adjusting."
