The M. Night Shyamalan movie is unmoved from the first place despite significant drop in its second week, while 'The Kid Who Would Be King' and 'Serenity' fail to impress in their debut weekend.

AceShowbiz - "Glass" still reigns at North American box office in its second week, as it faced little to no competition from other movies, including new releases this week. The "Split" sequel maintains its top position with additional $19 million, dipping 52.8% from last week.
For comparison, its predecessor "Split" took in $25.6 million on its second frame. The latest pic from M. Night Shyamalan starring Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson and James McAvoy has so far collected $73.6 million domestically. Added with its international gross of $89.1 million, it has raked in $162.7 million worldwide.
"The Upside", "Aquaman" and "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" are unmoved at the second, third and fifth place respectively. The Bryan Cranston and Kevin Hart-starring comedy added an estimated $12.2 million, the DC-Warner Bros. superhero movie brought in additional $7.4 million, while the Sony animated movie made approximately $6.2 million in its seventh week.
Two new major releases this week, "The Kid Who Would Be King" and "Serenity (2019)", struggle on their debut weekend. The Fox adventure fantasy movie debuts at No. 4 with an estimated $7.2 million, while the drama thriller starring Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway places eighth with approximately $4.8 million.
"Sometimes you make a really good movie and you have trouble connecting with a broad audience," Fox's head of domestic distribution Chris Aronson explained the movie's stumble. The British movie directed by Joe Cornish received mostly positive reviews with an approval rating of 86% on Rotten Tomatoes, while audience gave it a B+ CinemaScore.
Unlike the PG-rated movie which is inspired by the legend of King Arthur, "Serenity" never had a chance to shine at box office despite its strong cast, with an approval rating of 22% on Rotten Tomatoes. Agreeing with critics, the audience gave it a D+ CinemaScore.
Meanwhile, award season favorite and strong Oscar contender "Green Book" rises to No. 6 from No. 14, thanks to its Oscar nominations and wins at previous award shows. Other Oscar nominees which saw significant rise this week are "The Favourite" (+214%), "A Star Is Born" (+106.6%) and "Cold War" (+117.1%).
The domestic box office will continue to be slow until "The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part" is released on February 8.
