The 'Split' sequel tops the domestic chart three weeks in a row as box office sees the slowest Super Bowl weekend in two decades.

AceShowbiz - "Glass" continues its winning streak at North American box office. The Blumhouse superhero thriller film leads the chart for the third time in a row on what marks the lowest Super Bowl weekend in two decades.

The "Split" sequel from M. Night Shyamalan added an estimated $9.5 million for a current domestic total of $88.6 million. Internationally, it has grossed $110.3 million for a global total of $198.9 million so far.

Following the movie's third win at box office, director Shyamalan thanked fans for having tuned into the movie. "For third time straight I wake up on a Sunday to hear @GlassMovie is #1 at the box office," he wrote on Twitter on Sunday, February 3. "I have always counted on the audience's ability to accept dark & new voices. They alone have allowed me to be a filmmaker for this long."

He additionally encouraged new filmmakers to find their distinct "voice." He added in another post, "I love when I see a film with a distinct voice told in a different way. I know the system isn't geared to encourage that, but for new filmmakers there is a way to find your voice & connect with a large audience. They are not mutually exclusive."

It's actually another easy win for "Glass" as box office saw the slowest Super Bowl weekend in two decades. With all eyes on the biggest football event of the year, revenues in North America topped out at $71 million, according to Comscore. It didn't help that the polar vortex hit the midwest area over the weekend, with temperatures dropping below negative 50 degrees in some portions of the country.

New release "Miss Bala (2019)" starring Anthony Mackie and Gina Rodriguez debuts at No. 3 with approximately $6.7 million. The drama's film opening gross is disappointing, bringing back less than a half of its reported production budget of $15 million. The action thriller received majorly negative reviews, with 41 on Metacritic and 27% on RottenTomatoes while audience polled by PostTrak gave it an average 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Last week's runner-up "The Upside" stays at No. 2 with additional $8.8 million. "Aquaman" drops one spot to No. 4 with an estimated $4.8 million, followed by "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" which holds on to the fifth spot with an estimated $4.4 million.
