According to a source, the troubled actress has been spotted out and about at the Westlake Promenade with her boyfriend Chris Heisser.

AceShowbiz - Even Heather Locklear needs to spend the holiday season with her loved ones. After a month-long ordeal, the troubled actress has been temporarily released from the facility to spend time with her family for the holiday even though she was previously expected to remain in treatment during the season.

A source told Radar Online, "She is out of rehab for now to spend time with family for the holidays." The site additionally claimed that Heather was spotted out and about with her boyfriend Chris Heisser at the Westlake Promenade on Saturday, December 22, reporting that they were having a good time during the outing. "They seemed to be enjoying themselves, grabbing a bite to eat and shopping," the source added.

Even though things are looking better now, the insider admitted that the former "Melrose Place" star still had a long road to recovery ahead. "She obviously needs more help," the source said. "Everyone wants her to get better, no matter how long it takes, where she's not at risk to herself or anyone else."

Heather was put on a 5150 psychiatric hold after she assaulted her boyfriend Chris. It was said that doctors determined that the actress needed additional treatment and further evaluations that would require more time. She reportedly returned to rehab earlier this month.

It marks her third stint in rehab this year alone. She first checked into a treatment facility in March after getting arrested for felony domestic violence against her boyfriend. Three months later, the blonde star once again checked into rehab for treatment of alcohol abuse and mental health issues in June. It followed reports that she was handcuffed for punching a deputy and kicking an EMT officer.

Heather opened up about her battle with substance abuses in September. "Addiction is fericious and will try to take you down. Recovery is the best revenge. Be kind to everyone you meet, your light just might change their path," she said.
