In an interview with Men's Health magazine, the 'Vanderpump Rules' star recalls how he considered to hurt himself with drugs after his father died, but his fiancee Brittany Cartwright saved him.

AceShowbiz - Jax Taylor has credited marijuana for saving his life. The "Vanderpump Rules" star opened up in a new magazine interview that he was in a dark place after his father died in December 2017, but found his life changed after adhering to fiancee Brittany Cartwright's recommendation for him to smoke weed.

The 39-year-old model spilled details on how he sought help from the weed in an interview with Men's Health Magazine, which was published on Monday, December 17. "I was in a deep rut," he explained on his state of mind following his father’s passing. "I was literally going to lock myself in a room and do enough drugs to hurt myself."

Lucky for him, Brittany was looking after him and encouraged him to get himself a medical marijuana card. He recalled, "Britanny was, like, 'I understand where you're coming from. I can't imagine what you're going through, but can you try something?' " He soon found himself complying to the request. "I tried it and it changed my life," he admitted.

He went on to disclose that smoking weed helped him get a positive outlook on life. "I said, 'You know what? I'm not going to hurt myself. I'm not going to drink. I'm going to flip this around and make my dad proud. I'm going to go to the gym. We're going to start some businesses. We're going to move up,' " he shared.

In the interview, Jax also spilled the time he learned that his father, Ronald Cauchi, had lost his battle against esophageal cancer. "I get a phone call over speaker and it was my mom bawling her eyes out," he reminisced. "She's, like, 'Your father is dead.' I pulled the car over. I collapsed. I didn't know how to deal."

The former cast member of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" continued on, "I was on the way to see him the next day. I fell on the ground in the middle of the highway. I threw my phone on the highway. I was convulsing and everything. I was freaking out. I didn't know what to do. My life flashed. My best friend died."

Having overcome his troubles, Jax now looks to create a family with Brittany. "I'm so determined to be the best father that I can possibly be - because I really want to be at every PTA meeting, every soccer practice, every ballerina class," he gushed. "My dad was there. I've done everything I've wanted to do, partied my brains out, traveled the world. It’s time to start the next stage in my life."
