Grateful for the kindness, the celebrity tattoo artist promises to return the favor one day to the fellow mom who donated her breast milk.

AceShowbiz - Kat Von D is grateful for the support she received in the early days of motherhood. Three days after announcing the birth of her baby boy, the celebrity tattoo artist opened up on Instagram about owing a complete stranger for breast milk donation she got for her newborn, Leafar.

The wife of Rafael Reyes began her post with a bit background story as to why she needed the aid. "During the first two days of Leafar's life, his blood sugar count had been low, and as much as I had committed myself to strictly breastfeed, my milk hadn't come in yet," she wrote. "The pediatrician suggested asking around to see if any friends might have a bit extra milk they could donate - and if not, I'd have to consider supplementing with formula - something we personally did not want to do."

During the first two days of Leafar’s life, his blood sugar count had been low, and as much as I had committed myself to strictly breastfeed, my milk hadn’t come in yet. The pediatrician suggested asking around to see if any friends might have a bit of extra milk they could donate - and if not, I’d have to consider supplementing with formula - something we personally did not want to do. I called my beloved midwife, @losangelesmidwife to see if she knew anyone who might be willing to share a bit of their breastmilk who was on a plant-based diet, as that was crucial to us, and she quickly connected me with @mattersofmotherhood who, without even knowing me, and without question, stepped up and donated a few ounces to us in the middle of the night. Needless to say, Leafar’s levels boosted, and we are now happily breastfeeding at home. Can’t thank @mattersofmotherhood enough for getting us through those rough nights with your donation. This is true community. True sisterhood. True kindness. And I can’t wait to pay it forward one day soon. 🖤

"I called my beloved midwife, @losangelesmidwife to see if she knew anyone who might be willing to share a bit of their breastmilk who was on a plant-based diet, as that was crucial to us," the 36-year-old went on to explain how she got the help she needed, "and she quickly connected me with @mattersofmotherhood who, without even knowing me, and without question, stepped up and donated a few ounces to us in the middle of the night."

The TV personality, who previously appeared on "LA Ink", then gushed, "Needless to say, Leafar's levels boosted, and we are now happily breastfeeding at home. Can't thank @mattersofmotherhood enough for getting us through those rough nights with your donation. This is true community. True sisterhood. True kindness." In the end, she vowed to share the generosity to others as she noted, "And I can't wait to pay it forward one day soon."

Morgan Campbell, who went by the name of @mattersofmotherhood, has since responding to Kat's public gratitude. Reposting Kat's breastfeeding video and lengthy message, she explained her decision to give away her milk. "I donate my breastmilk because my body has given me this gift and I believe as a mother, it's important to share it with those who need it," she penned. "I don't give for thanks or anything in return. We all need help at points in our lives and as a mama, I will always and forever support new mama's & parents."

Back on December 2, Kat made use of her Instagram account to share that she and her Prayers rocker husband had welcomed their first child together. "Meet our beautiful baby boy, Leafar Von D Reyes," she posted before declaring she will take some time off from social media to embrace parenthood.
