AceShowbiz - The stars of "The Favourite" are up for another ensemble trophy after scoring a special mention among the 2018 Satellite Awards nominations.
Rachel Weisz, Olivia Colman, and Emma Stone will pick up the Ensemble: Motion Picture honour at the 23rd annual prizegiving, where "Black Panther" director Ryan Coogler will be feted with the Auteur Award, and Rupert Everett will be handed the Best First Feature gong for "The Happy Prince".
In the special television categories, "The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story" has scored the Ensemble: Television award.
Among the list of film nominees for the Satellite Awards, "A Star is Born" leads the way with 11 nods, including Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical, Director (Bradley Cooper), Actor in Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical (Cooper), and Actress in Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical (Lady GaGa).
"The Favourite" lands nine nominations, including mentions for Weisz, Colman, and Stone, and director Alfonso Cuaron's acclaimed "Roma" scores eight.
In the television categories, "The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story" leads the way with five total nominations, one more than Benedict Cumberbatch's "Patrick Melrose".
The Satellite Awards are handed out annually by the International Press Academy, a global association of professional entertainment journalists and film critics representing a multitude of print, broadcast and digital media outlets.
