In a near-future Japan, a canine flu leads the authoritarian Mayor Kobayashi to exile the entire dog population to a desolate garbage dump known as Trash Island. Directed by Wes Anderson, this meticulously crafted stop-motion adventure follows a young boy named Atari who embarks on a perilous solo journey to find his beloved bodyguard dog, Spots. On the island, Atari encounters a pack of strays led by the gruff and independent Chief, voiced by Bryan Cranston, who reluctantly agrees to help. The pack, featuring the voices of Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum, and Bob Balaban, navigate the treacherous landscape while a conspiracy brews back in Megasaki City, involving a foreign exchange student, Greta Gerwig, and a persistent journalist, Frances McDormand. Blending deadpan humor with genuine heart, the film weaves a tale of loyalty, political intrigue, and the unbreakable bond between a boy and his dog, all set against a visually stunning and richly detailed world.
