Newly appointed as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, the 'Stranger Things' star is inspired by her own experience to raise awareness about issues affecting the young.

AceShowbiz - Millie Bobby Brown is inspired by her own experience to team up with UNICEF as its Goodwill Ambassador. The British star, who will address bullying and poverty in her new role, reveals in an interview with BBC after her appointment that she herself has been a victim of bullying.
"I've been through a lot of bullying - through school and also through cyber bullying online," the actress says. "And I think that's why I so excited to work with UNICEF and I'm excited to inform world leaders and people, strangers walking in the street, I'm excited to let them know that change is coming."
During the interview, Millie is also asked about what to expect from "Stranger Things" season 3. "It's the summer of love, there's a lot of relationships and a lot of love and there's also that supernatural twist that 'Stranger Things' adds to it," she shares, before coyly adding, "The slogan we are using for this season is #it's spreading' - we don't know what it is but it's spreading, you'll have to find out next year."
At 14 years old, Millie is the youngest-ever Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations' children's agency UNICEF. "It's a dream come true to become a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador," she said in a statement. "It's a huge honour to join such an impressive list of people who have supported UNICEF over the years. I am looking forward to meeting as many children and young people as I can, hearing their stories, and speaking out on their behalf."
As part of her new role, Millie has starred in a commercial to promote UNICEF's #GoBlue campaign for World Children's Day. She appears alongside other celebrity ambassadors including Liam Neeson, Dua Lipa and Orlando Bloom to help spread the word and encourage people to wear blue to show their support for children's rights.
Millie has spoken out against bullying before she's appointed as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. Back in June when she received an award for Best Performance in a Show at the 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards, she said in a recorded video, "Finally, since I know there are many young people watching this-and even to the adults, too-they could probably use the reminder that I was taught: If you don't have anything nice to say, just don't say it. There should be no space in this world for bullying, and I'm not going to tolerate it, and neither should any of you."
Earlier that month, the "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" star abandoned her Twitter account after she became the subject of homophobic memes. She, however, is still active on Instagram.
