The 'Tik Tok' hitmaker was set to perform in Taiwan's capital as part of her current Rainbow Tour, but pulled out minutes before she was due on stage due to medical advice.

AceShowbiz - Ke$ha pulled out of a show in Taiwan on Sunday, September 16 at the last minute after falling ill.

The "Tik Tok" singer, 31, originally planned to perform in Taiwan's capital, Taipei, in April as part of her current Rainbow Tour, but rescheduled the gig after tearing a cruciate ligament in her knee onstage in Dubai.

However, just 20 minutes before she was due on stage at the city's National Taiwan University (NTU) Sports Center, organisers Bon Appetit Entertainment posted a message to Facebook announcing she was cancelling on medical advice.

"Kesha was so looking forward to seeing her Taiwan Animals and is devastated to have to cancel the show," the post read. "Under doctor's orders, she is unable to take the stage tonight. Therefor (sic), KESHA RAINBOW TOUR 2018 LIVE IN TAIPEI has been cancelled."

According to Taiwanese tabloid Apple Daily, the star sought medical advice after feeling "uncomfortable" due to the local food and weather.

Kesha's earlier injury forced her to delay dates in Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, and Japan, to undergo a knee operation to fix a torn anterior cruciate ligament. She returned to touring in June when she joined the rapper Macklemore on a joint trek.

The Rainbow Tour has earned rave reviews following her enforced absence from recording due to her legal dispute with her former producer Lukasz 'Dr. Luke' Gottwald over her allegations of sexual and emotional abuse. He denied her accusations and the pair became embroiled in a lengthy court battle that prevented her from making a new album until she debuted Rainbow last year.

Taiwanese fans have been offered refunds following the concert cancellation.
