The 'In My Blood' singer suggests that he doesn't want to rush when it comes to dating as he has plenty of time to find a soulmate.

AceShowbiz - Shawn Mendes is happy to be single, insisting he is sure dating is inappropriate for him to do right now.
The pop star, who was linked to Justin Bieber's new fiancee Hailey Baldwin earlier this year, admits he has moments when he looks at his peers who are all loved-up and wonders if he should be too, but quickly realises he has plenty of time to find a soulmate.
"I'm not currently dating anyone, but it's not because I don't have time," he tells Variety. "I don't know if I’d be dating anyone if I was home in Pickering, either.
"It hasn't stumbled across me, and I'm not chasing it. Of course, seeing all those other artists and people in relationships, you think, 'Maybe it would be nice. Who would be great for me?' And that's when you realise, 'This is wrong. Let it be. I’m not supposed to be with anyone right now'".
And he insists there's plenty of love in his life - just not the romantic kind right now: "I have amazing parents and incredible friends," he adds.
The 20-year-old In My Blood singer also opens up about building his success, urging wannabes to work hard on a fan base.
"People forget how important groundwork is, physically being in every city, meeting people, like in a presidential campaign," he says. "I've known nothing but that since I was 15, so it's not like I was at one time very private and now I have to be open. I've always been like that. I don't find it hard or disruptive, and I think I’m OK with it".
