The 'Golden star' filed for divorce from Mike Dobson, citing 'irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct.'

AceShowbiz - Singer Jill Scott's prenuptial agreement has been upheld in her contentious divorce battle with her ex-husband.

The Golden star filed for divorce from Mike Dobson, her husband of almost 15 months, last September (17), citing "irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct", and in her filed documents she asked a judge to enforce the pair's prenuptial agreement.

Dobson fought back, seeking to have the marriage deal, which bans him from claiming any spousal support, voided, alleging he was pressured to sign it without a lawyer present.

Earlier this month, Scott and Dobson's divorce was made official and now it has emerged a judge has ruled the prenuptial agreement will stand - and neither party will have to pay alimony.

According to Bossip, the singer will pay the $47,800 (£37,300) lien on Dobson's Mercedes. She has also granted his previous request to let him collect his personal belongings from her home.

"We are very pleased with the resolution and hope the parties can now move on with their lives," Dobson's lawyer James Cobb says.
