AceShowbiz - Kylie Jenner successfully managed to avoid awkward run-ins with Nicki Minaj at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards at Radio Music City Hall in New York. The moment was caught in a video which was obtained by TMZ.
The makeup mogul and the female emcee hit the red carpet almost at the same time during the event, with both being surrounded by staff and photographers. Kylie was seen sauntering down the red carpet before suddenly stopping when she spotted Nicki coming to her way. She whispered something to a team member and immediately changed course.
It remains unknown what was going through her mind at the time, but it's safe to assume that she only wanted to avoid more drama. Nicki herself didn't seem to notice Kylie's presence as she was too busy showing off her nude bodysuit which featured a sheer mesh overlay.
Drama between the two superstars first started after Travis Scott (II)'s "Astroworld" beat Nicki's "Queen" on Billboard 200 chart. The Trinidadian beauty was not happy about that and accused her fellow rapper of using "unfair" methods to promote his album. It included having Kylie help promote his album.
"I put my blood sweat & tears in writing a dope album only for Travis Scott to have Kylie Jenner post a tour pass telling ppl to come see her & Stormi. Lol. I'm actually laughing," she said in a tweet. Nicki didn't stop there as she continued to blast the couple during her radio show "Queen Radio".
"When [Travis] realized that 'Queen' was about to [be] the No. 1 album in America, he and his label decided to have Kylie and baby Stormi put up a tour pass... He had her post and say, 'Hey, me and Stormi can't wait to see y'all,' " she said. "How are you selling something that does not have anything to do with your album but it is being counted on Billboard as album sales?"
