The 'Desperate Housewives' alum will star alongside Isabela Moner, who will tackle the titular character, in the live-action adaptation of the popular kids TV series.

AceShowbiz - New mum Eva Longoria has been cast as Dora The Explorer's mother in an upcoming live-action version of the popular kids TV series.

The former "Desperate Housewives" star, who welcomed son Santiago in June, will join "Transformers: The Last Knight"'s Isabela Moner, who will tackle the titular character.

Eugenio Derbez, Micke Moreno, Madeleine Madden, Adriana Barraza, and Temuera Morrison will feature in the film, which is currently in production in Australia. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will centre on Dora navigating her way through high school after spending several years exploring the jungle with her parents.

It is being directed by James Bobin and is scheduled for release in August, 2019.
