The 'Grey's Anatomy' alum will star on the upcoming thriller which is based on ex-Italian banker Guido Maria Brera's book of the same name.

AceShowbiz - Patrick Dempsey is stepping into the world of finance for a new TV thriller based on bestselling novel Devils.

The former Grey's Anatomy star will feature in the small screen adaptation of ex-Italian banker Guido Maria Brera's book of the same name, about a group of investment traders who uncover a global financial conspiracy during the European debt crisis, which began unfolding in 2008.

Italian actor Alessandro Borghi will co-star in the 10-part series, which will be set in the London office of a large U.S. bank, headed up by Dempsey's character, Dominic Morgan.

Sherlock and Doctor Who director Nick Hurran will step behind the camera for the Sky Italia network project, for which he will also serve as showrunner.

Production is set to take place in London and Rome in September, and the series is expected to air in 2019.
