AceShowbiz - More details regarding Demi Lovato's drug overdose have emerged online. Rumor has it, the "Cool for the Summer" songstress suffered a deadly overdose after smoking Oxycodone laced with fentanyl. TMZ was the first one who reported the news.

According to the site, Demi was holding a party at her Hollywood Hills home on July 24 when she texted a drug dealer, whom she had been using since April, to come to her house. After the dealer arrived at her home, the two "freebased Oxycodone on tin foil."

Sources knowledgeable of the situation told the news outlet that Demi had no idea that the dealer was famous for buying less-than-clean drugs from Mexico, and that the drugs were laced with fentanyl. It is the same substance that killed Prince and Lil Peep.

She reportedly began breathing very heavily after she went to bed. The drug dealer took notice of that and immediately fled her home. A member of the Disney alum's staff found her in the following morning and called paramedics, who revived her using Naracan. She was subsequently hospitalized for two weeks before entering a rehab facility.

Previous report stated that Demi would stay at the facility for several months in order to get better. "She will be in rehab for several months and is doing an extensive program to ensure she gets the help she needs," an insider shared, adding that she "is doing much better" both mentally and physically.

According to the source, the "Stone Cold" singer "has become more open and is happy she is getting the help she needs," especially after trying to "grasp the severity of what happened and that she almost died." The source added, "She hopes to make a full recovery and be able to do one thing that she loves: music."
