According to a source, the rapper has been ordered to serve one year of probation as part of the deal.

AceShowbiz - Rapper Webbie has avoided prison time after striking a plea deal over his 2017 domestic violence arrest.

The Who U Wit star, real name Webster Gradney, Jr., was taken into custody by Louisiana police last summer after allegedly clashing with his then-girlfriend, who claimed he had tried to choke her, hit her, and refused to let her leave their hotel room during the altercation.

Webbie was charged with second degree battery, false imprisonment, and domestic abuse by strangulation, but he has since reached an agreement with prosecutors, and on Thursday, August 02, he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of simple battery.

According to TMZ.com, he was ordered to serve one year of probation as part of the deal, but must also stay out of trouble for that period, and complete 20 hours of community service and anger management classes.

He must also pay $5,000 (£3,840) in restitution to his now ex-girlfriend, as well as $500 (£385) in court fees.

It's not the first time Webbie has been accused of violent behaviour - he was arrested back in 2012 for battery and robbery, after he allegedly kicked a woman down the stairs.
