AceShowbiz - Jane Fonda has threatened to walk away from the planned 9 To 5 sequel if sexual harassment issues in the workplace aren't addressed in the film.

The actress has agreed to reteam with Dolly Parton and Lily Tomlin, her castmates from the 1980 comedy, for the new movie, which is being written by Rashida Jones, but she'll dump the project if there's not a serious plot line about the way men treat women at work.

In the original, Fonda and her co-stars' characters ganged up on a sexist, disrespectful boss and the Hollywood veteran insists it's the right time to really go after sexual harassers in a new film.

"I'm sorry to say that the situation (of harassment at work) is worse today," said Fonda, who will executive produce the new film. "Back in the day, the company in the film was called Consolidated, which it still is in the new version. You were hired by the company and if you had problems you went to the company.

"Today, a lot of the workforce is hired by an outside company and sub-contracted... (and) everything you say or write or email you send (is noted). It's much worse, although I do think sexual harassment will tend to drop because guys are scared!

"If those changes aren't reflected I'm not going to be in it, but right now Dolly, Lily and I are all intending to be in it."
