AceShowbiz - Rapper Jim Jones has been released on bail following an arrest for drugs and gun possession.

The Diplomats hitmaker was arrested in Georgia on Thursday, June 21 following a car chase with police officers.

According to TMZ, Jones, real name Joseph Guillermo Jones II, was a passenger in a vehicle that hit a deputy's car during the chase.

After the car stopped, police reportedly found marijuana, prescription pills oxycodone and Percocet, vape pen cartridges, THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) oil, cash, and two loaded guns, including one that was stolen.

Jones allegedly told cops he had a prescription for the pills, but he did not claim ownership of anything else. He also reportedly informed officers that he told the unidentified female driver to stop, but she appeared to be "incoherent".

The 41-year-old has since been charged with felonies for possession of a stolen gun, possession of a firearm during commission of a crime, and possession of narcotics. He was also hit with a misdemeanour charge for the prescription pills because they were not in the original container.

He has been released on $7,000 (£5,300) bail.
