Laurie has been preparing herself for a standoff with the serial killer as the video confirms a major change to the franchise mythology.

AceShowbiz - Everyone's worst nightmare is coming true as Michael Myers escapes jail in the first trailer for "Halloween (2018)". In the movie, a bus which transports the convicted murderer and other prisoners gets into an accident and he's on the loose.

Having experienced herself being hunted by the serial killer decades ago, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) should be the one who is most afraid about this, but she's not. Instead, Laurie has been praying for Michael's escape so she "can kill him."

"He's waited for me. I've waited for him," she says in the video. She is seen practicing her shooting skill in anticipation of their impending standoff, something which will likely turn ugly as he comes to her home and her family is involved.

The video also confirms a major change to the franchise mythology. Michael Myers is not Laurie Strode's brother. As explained by her granddaughter, played by Andi Matichak, "that was something people made up."

In the eleventh installment in the "Halloween" franchise, Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.

"For a lot of people, out of sight, out of mind," Curtis said when EW visited the movie set earlier this year. "For her, out of sight, out of her mind. Michael Myers is her sole focus. Because she [knows], the same way Loomis knew, that Michael Myers is a threat - and no one else seems to take him so."

David Gordon Green directed the movie, while Danny McBride co-wrote the script with Jeff Fradley and Green. Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Will Patton, Virginia Gardner and Nick Castle also star in the slasher film, which is slated to arrive in the U.S. on October 19, just in time for Halloween.
