AceShowbiz - Moonlight director Barry Jenkins is teaming up with Brad Pitt to bring a new series about the Underground Railroad to TV.

Jenkins will direct all 11 episodes of Underground Railroad, which he'll also produce with Pitt's Plan B company for Amazon.

The project is based on Colson Whitehead's bestselling novel The Underground Railroad, which won a Pulitzer Prize and was named the winner of the 2016 National Book Award.

"Working with Amazon and a wonderful group of screenwriters to develop Colson’s novel into a limited series has been an extremely rewarding experience," Jenkins says. "Translating his singular voice into a cohesive and equally singular visual language is a task I very much look forward to".

The Underground Railroad will be released on Amazon Prime Video.
