The first footage features the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star alongside a series of beautiful outcasts all waiting for the arrival of a coyote.

AceShowbiz - Johnny Depp is the star of a new promotional film for Dior's male fragrance Sauvage.

In footage exclusively obtained by British GQ, the Pirates of the Caribbean star, who also narrates the story, can be seen alongside a series of beautiful outcasts all waiting for the arrival of a coyote.

Johnny, 54, appears in the clip, shot by directors Clement Beauvais and Arthur de Kersauson, dressed in his signature rock star wardrobe, wearing a black hat and a poncho, sat beside a camp fire in the Californian desert.

The film marks the launch of the French fashion house's campaign The Legend Of The Magic Hour, which is inspired by a Navajo legend about a coyote's involvement in the creation of the Milky Way.

"In this tale, a certain Black God, the god of fire, created stars at the behest of the Elders. As daylight faded, he began to hang a multitude of stars in the sky, giving rise to the constellations," director Beauvais explained to GQ. "It was then that the coyote appeared. Filled with impatience and raging because the Elders had not asked his opinion about the positioning of the stars, he stole the bag containing the remaining stars from Black God, and threw them furiously up into the air. The stars spread out in a chaotic, disorganised manner, thereby forming the Milky Way".

Johnny first became a brand ambassador for Dior in 2015, and was tapped as the face Sauvage.
