Walter claims Tambor verbally harassed her while working together on the show, but Jason Bateman and Tony Hale say Tambor's actions were just 'part of his process' on set.

AceShowbiz - Actress Jessica Walter has added to embattled Arrested Development castmate Jeffrey Tambor's woes after accusing him of verbally abusing her on set.

Walters, who plays Tambor's ex-wife in the series, was asked to comment on sexual assault claims against the actor during a New York Times interview with the cast of the comedy, and she teared up as she revealed she was subjected to his angry, unprofessional conduct - behaviour the Emmy-winner has since apologised for.

"Let me just say one thing that I just realised in this conversation," she shared. "I have to let go of being angry at him. He never crossed the line on our show... sexual whatever. Verbally, yes, he harassed me, but he did apologise. I have to let it go."

She added, "In… almost 60 years of working, I've never had anybody yell at me like that on a set. And it's hard to deal with, but I'm over it now."

Her co-stars Jason Bateman and Tony Hale defended Tambor during the sit down, dismissing his actions as "part of his process" on set and noting, "We all have our moments". Their comments led Walter to add, "Not like that. That was bad."

But despite the difficult experience, Walter isn't opposed to working with Tambor again.

"I've just given it up... I don't want to walk around with anger. I respect him as an actor," she said. "We've known each other for years and years and years... Of course, I would work with him again in a heartbeat."

The veteran actor was dumped from Amazon's award-winning drama Transparent in February, after he was accused of inappropriate sexual behaviour by his former assistant, Van Barnes, and actress Trace Lysette, who appeared on the show.

In his first interview since his firing, earlier this month, he told The Hollywood Reporter he can be "difficult" and "moody" to work with, but insisted there is no truth to Barnes' allegations of sexual misconduct, including reportedly watching her while she slept nude.

"I dispute her account," he told the publication. "I did raise my voice at times, I was moody at times, there were times when I was tactless. But, as for the other stuff, absolutely not."
