AceShowbiz - Kevin may now stop waiting. CBS has opted not to renew "Kevin Can Wait", a comedy starring Kevin James, after two seasons.

"Kevin Can Wait" follows Kevin Gable, who retires from the police force. He thinks life will be all about hanging out with his wife and kids and going on the occasional adventure with fellow retirees, Goody and Duffy, and his brother Kyle. The show averaged 7.7 million viewers and a 1.6 rating among adults 18-49 including DVR playback.

During its season 2, "Kevin Can't Wait" underwent a major overhaul when Donna Gable (Erinn Hayes) was killed off without explanation. The show later brought in "King of Queens" star Leah Remini, who plays Kevin's former police partner Vanessa Cellucci.

"I want to say thank you to all the fans for the love and support. I was so blessed to be able to work every day with the most amazing cast, crew, writers and support team!" Kevin writes on his Instagram account following the cancellation news.. "Thank you all! Thank you @cbstvstudios and thank you @sony for your constant dedication to the show. I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything in the world… Okay, maybe a season 3. Love to all."

Leah also took to her Instagram account to bid farewell to everyone involved on the series. "I want to say thank you to the amazing cast, crew, producers, and the writers of @kevincanwaitcbs. You accepted me with open arms. For me to get to work with @officialkevinjames again day in and day out was a Godsend. I laughed everyday, and I will miss that the most," she says. "You don’t always get a second chance at something that meant so much to you and I did, and I am so grateful for it. It came at a time when I needed to laugh. So thank you all. I am so happy that it happened and I will miss seeing all of you. Thank you to @cbstv and @sony for a great time."

"Kevin Can Wait" is not the only show getting canceled on CBS. The network has also pulled the plug on Mark Feuerstein's freshmen comedy "9JKL". It pulled in 6.3 million viewers and a 1.2 rating in the key demo.

Jeremy Piven's "Wisdom of the Crowd" and Bobby Moynihan's "Me,Myself and I" are also canceled. The former drew an average of 8.5 million viewers and a 1.2 rating in the demo, while the latter averaged 6.1 million viewers and a 1.3 rating. Also joining them is "Living Biblically", which is canceled after one season.

On Saturday, May 9, CBS canceled "Superior Donuts" and "Scorpion". Meanwhile, it gave last-minute renewals to "Man With a Plan", "Criminal Minds", "Instinct" and "Life in Pieces".
